YOUR ART. A LITTLE ROOM TO BREATHE.

Gallery wall planner.
Every frame in place.

Try the arrangement before making a mark. Give each frame its real outer size, then take a measured plan to your wall.

The usable wall

Measure the rectangular wall area you want to use. All positions begin at its top-left corner.

Your frames

Use outer frame dimensions, including the frame itself. Art and numbers are illustrative.

Numbers match the list belowOrange outline = outside the wall

This positions the outside edges and geometric centers of rectangles. It does not locate nails, hooks, wires or mounting hardware, assess wall strength, or detect furniture and other obstacles.

Room around the arrangement

Margins measure the group’s outer bounds. A negative margin means it extends outside the usable wall.

Take these measurements to the wall.

From the top-left corner of your measured wall. Center coordinates describe each frame’s rectangle, not its hanging hardware.

A PLAN YOU CAN MEASURE

Get the arrangement right.
Then check the hardware.

Each frame gets a numbered rectangle. The table gives its outer edges and center, so you can compare the plan with your actual frames before marking the wall.

A worked example

Three 30 × 40 cm frames in one row with 6 cm gaps occupy 102 × 40 cm. Centered on a 240 × 180 cm usable wall, the group starts 69 cm from the left and 70 cm from the top.

Frame centers are X = 84, 120 and 156 cm, all at Y = 90 cm. These are geometric centers. A frame’s hanger may sit somewhere else.

How does the grid handle different sizes?

Each column is as wide as its widest frame; each row is as tall as its tallest frame. Frames are centered horizontally in their column. Choose top, center or bottom alignment inside each row. The entered gap separates the row or column boxes, so some individual frames have extra space around them.

What are balanced columns?

Frames are placed in list order into the shortest column so far. Each column uses its widest frame as its width, and frames are centered within it. The vertical gap stays fixed. The layout is deterministic; moving a frame earlier in the list can change several positions.

Where do I measure from?

Use the top-left corner of the rectangular wall area you entered. “Left” and “top” locate a frame’s outer edges. Center X = left + half the frame width; center Y = top + half the frame height. Measurements outside the wall are flagged instead of silently moved.

Will this tell me where to drill?

No. Frame dimensions do not reveal hanger offsets, wire tension, fastener requirements or wall construction. Determine those from the actual frame and its mounting instructions. This plan is for arrangement and positioning.

How do saves and shares work?

Your valid edits save in this browser if storage is available. A shared URL contains an editable copy of your dimensions and arrangement. No account or live tracking tag is loaded by this tool. Reset replaces this tool’s saved plan with the six-frame example.
